How to Communicate Better: A Practical Course for Clearer, More Effective Conversations
Effective communication is an essential skill that can improve every area of your life—whether it’s at work, at home, or in your relationships. Many people struggle with communication, which can lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and missed opportunities. But the good news is, communication skills are something you can learn and improve over time.
If you’ve ever wondered, “How can I communicate better?” you’re not alone. It’s a question that many of us face at various points in our lives. The key to better communication lies in understanding and applying practical techniques that focus on clarity, active listening, empathy, and mutual respect.
During this course, we’ll explore key communication strategies and actionable steps to enhance your skills. Let’s dive in!
This Foundation Training in Nonviolent Communication is an ideal way to get started with this life changing practice of Nonviolent Communication. Two days to learn the basics and grow skills to improve your communication at home, at work and find compassion for yourself.
Foundation Training Program
Day One:
- What kind of communication would we enjoy?
- The simple 4 Step Nonviolent Communication model
- Expressing oneself with honesty without causing upset
- Mistakes common to us all that make communication such a challenge
Day Two:
- Empathy- what it is and how and when it supports connection
- Listening to others without hearing blame, judgement and criticism
- Bringing the model together, expressing oneself and being ready to listen; the Dance of Communication 💃🏻
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a revolutionary way of communicating that fosters understanding, connection, and collaboration. Developed by Dr Marshall Rosenberg, NVC helps you express your needs without blame, judgment, or hostility.
Key principles of NVC include:
• Observation without judgment: Describe what you observe in neutral terms, without evaluation.
• Identify and express feelings: Share how you feel in response to the situation.
• Focus on needs: Recognize and express your underlying needs that are driving your feelings.
• Make requests, not demands: Invite collaboration by framing your requests in a respectful, non-demanding way.

Remembering Robert Kržišnik
In Robert's words- “For me it’s all about connection: from self-connection, through healing wounded parts of ourselves and embracing our whole being, to connect with others on a deeply sincere and vulnerable level. It’s about entering this experience of human existence fully, to manifest connection with the Whole, with the flow of Life.”
